John Lavash Grows Up:
Sherborn in the 1930's & 1940's
Back in the early 1990's, one of the Lavash boys, a well known family in town during the 20th century, wrote down his recollections of life during his younger years. John's vivid memories and engaging writing offer us a wonderful glimpse back in time, when kids assumed certain adulthood roles earlier than they do today. These were surely 'the good old days' for John, an era when challenges and problems were faced with cleverness, hard work, and a spirited combination of individualism and community effort.
